Breast Lifting

Breast Lifting or? Mastopexia is the procedure in which we achieve an improvement in? the appearance of the breasts by the correction of the fall of the breast? (ptosis) or a low insertion of the areola and nipple.? This occurs as time goes, when the gravity and the skin?s loss of elasticity cause a tendency to fall in the mammary tissue, as in pregnancy and lactation.? At the same time, is possible to improve the appearance of the nipples by its reduction, as well as to combine this surgery with the placement of prosthesis when the mammary tissue is scarce.

It?s also possible, that the ptosis from time to time, and especially during those hot days, causes irritation and even infection in the skin under the breast, causing inconvenience in the patient.

Generally, the procedure can have many variations depending on the patient?s desires, but there are common points as:

• Modification of the mammary tissue to give it a little conical form
• Removal of a lower segment of mammary gland
• The reinstatement of the nipple / areolar complex.
