Burns

The burns can be caused by agents as radiation (ej. Solar), thermal(ej.? Steam), chemical (ej.? Acid) or electric (ej.? Electric current) and at the same time, they are divided into three categories that are:

First degree

Are those more superficial that only result in the affectation of the epidermis or the more external layer of the skin.? The wound in itself is found erythematous and does not present blisters; the skin is found drought and ardent.? Its depth is little and they heal easily.

Second Degree

In this type of burns they are presented as much blisters as inflammation and affect the two most external layers of the skin as are the epidermis and the dermis. The pain is greater and the inflammation extends to tissues that have not been affected in the burn.

Third Degree

Is the most serious type of burn, since the three layers of skin are injured, as well as subcutaneous tissue, muscle, nerves and blood vessels.? Paradoxical this type of burn does not produce pain, since the nerves responsible for transmitting the painful impulses are completely affected.? The skin is found wizened, drought, of whitish or black color and lacking of blisters.? THESE BURNS ALWAYS REQUIRE OF ATTENTION MEDICATES OF EMERGENCY.

Once the burns affect a 15 to 20% of the corporal surface in an adult, or well, a 10% in a boy, they are considered that are injuries that put in danger the life and they require hospitalization and own cares of a hospital.? The presence of rehabilitation in this type of injuries is fundamental for a satisfactory recovery.

Treatment of the Burns

You Should withdraw the source of the burn, whether of heat or chemical substances.

WITHOUT USING ICE (causes greater damages than benefits), the zone affected should be chilled, whether by CLEAN water or well, by means of the application of compresses with fresh and clean water.

Avoiding at any cost? to rub homemade remedies (ej. Mustard, lard) in the zone of the injury, since its contents can produce greater irritation or a probable infection.

The affected zone should be covered with a clean fabric impregnated in water and at the same time you should seek urgent medical attention.? (in the case of fingers in hands and feet, is convenient to place among the same a piece of fabric wet).
