Rhinoplasty

Probably, rhinoplasty is the most commonly performed procedure by plastics surgeons.? It consists in the surgical modification of the nose?s shape whether by aesthetics/ functional or reconstructive reasons, by the manipulation of its bony and cartilaginous components.

The center of the procedure consists in identifying what don?t You like of your nose, favoring with this better real expectations concerning the results and to value the complexity of the case.

Rhinoplasty is a procedure that can be carried out as soon as 13 or 14 years, when the development of the nose has been mostly completed and its relation with other facial structures is already determined.? Generally the incisions are performed inside of the nose to avoid evident scars; occasionally and depending on the technical difficulty, an incision among the nasal orifices can be carried out, called open rhinoplasty.

The skin that covers the nose is "separated" or "freed" to have the possibility to manipulate the cartilages and bones that compose the nose; subsequently they are remodelled and Dr. Cárdenas add or withdraw some of the cartilaginous and bony components to obtain the desired aspect.? At the end of this procedure, the Dr. Cárdenas will place a ferulae on the dorsal surface of the nose thus, modelling the bones at the time of scar formation and to maintain the achieved form by the surgery.? This ferulae will be placed 10 to 14 days.
